Serene Waterfall
The serene setting of a pathway along a pristine mountain trout stream in dappled sunlight is the place to remember that among both shadows and sunbeams, a perfect picture is being painted. Proverbs 4:18 assures us that “The path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.” This is a verse of hope and expectation that what our Heavenly Father has promised He is able to perform. It is the brightness of the light that obscures the details of the future, for “Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.” 1 Corinthians 2:9. Salem Depot in 1975
The B&O Railroad connected the dots for many budding settlements when it charted its way from Baltimore through the mountains to the Ohio River. Salem was one of these. During its boom-town years in the late 1800s the station became a busy place! Even after the years of prosperity, Salem Depot served the town of Salem well through both of the World Wars and, as noted by historians, though a depot may be owned by the railroad company, it becomes a kind of trademark for the townspeople, earning a place in their hearts that remains long after the railroad company’s tracks are taken up. Edition is limited.
