When Jon Comes Marching Home Again, Hoorah, Huzzah!

Today, Jonathan completes boot camp in ALERT, where the motto is: STRONG TO SERVE.

There is a lot that happens in a man’s life however, that precedes his determination to begin and finish emergency response training. Here is a glimpse of the ways we have seen you welcome the role of noble manhood and servant leadership, Jonathan . . .

.Attentively watching Grandpa fix a bike way back in the 90's!

.

It started early.

.

.

.Happy Birthday!

.

It progressed one year at a time!

.

.This Jungle was in Omaha Nebraska--It's the Lied Jungle at the Omaha Zoo

.

It involved: lots of adventures . . .

.

Cacapon State Park, West VirginiaMountaineering in the Black Hills of South Dakota! At 3 1/2 years of age Jonathan climbed to the top of the Statue of Liberty right along with the rest of us and the Brearlys.

I appreciate Jonathan being an energy-giver since as far back as I can remember him.During our last Christmas in Manassas, we befriended Duong and Lisa from Vietnam."God just brought them RIGHT HERE!" was Jonathan's exclamation when this band of bighorns crossed the middle of the picnic area at Custer State Park.

. . . brothers . . .                   . . . holidays . . .      . . . and many miracles!

.At the String Workshop Jonathan was on the other end of the "Skype" call for the first time. This is the time we left to catch the early flight out from Pittsburg to Dallas.

It included rising early

on your mission to

the String Workshop . . .

.

Welcome home!Mission complete.Southwest planes are more colorful now than when I first flew. From one of the higher levels of the airport David and I spied a small point of light, coming steadily closer. It turned out to be Jonathan's plane!

.

. . . and back again, bringing Esther safely home on your first plane trip.

God-given strength is used by the strong to support the week (Romans 15:1).God-given determination makes clear and plain the way of the righteous.Driving does not need to be dangerous.Dusting does not need to be drudgery.

Dusting, driving, clearing trails and supporting others all required strength

Learning operational definitions of character.Tapping for syrup was Jonathan's initiative.Building customer relations skills at the Salem Farmers' Market. as did bread-baking/marketing, sap-tapping and daily character-building

Following in the footsteps of courageous leaders.Living history. At the ready.

–strength that was the Lord’s strength to fight the world, flesh and devil.

Encouraging one another in the discipline of Scripture memory.Participating in our mock Bible Bee.Investing in others.

Assisting fireside supervision.Heading up videography for the family as well as Mr. Stelzl's Entrepreneurship Conference.Working at the Apple Butter Festival.

Celebrating the milestones.Moving onward and upward.Graduating from high school

Maintaining excellence in music.Taking care of the free firewood that keeps coming and coming . . .Serving on kitchen duty with Grandma Brown..

Jonathan was the first to take outdoor living skills seriously.Backyard camping.Find the right backpack with James was key to being "strong to serve".

Not to mention that we really appreciate you doing your part on the FEW Team, serving the Lord with singleness of heart and spiritual strength!!!
