Sept 7: Grandma Brannon’s 80th Birthday: What a cause for a celebration! Saturday
afternoon the Staddon home was bustling with many diligent workers in preparation for the party. We were grateful for everyone who came to help decorate and prepare food.
Sunday morning during church Esther and Mom surprised Grandma by playing the special music in honor of her birthday. Then Sunday afternoon children, grandchildren, and others gathered at our house to 
celebrate this momentous occasion. After opening gifts and cards she read 80 slips of paper on which were written notes of appreciation for things such as: a) The cheerful way she puts others first, b) 
Optimism towards life, and her delicious cheese cake. We all enjoyed the tasty dinner, snacks, cake and ice cream, and especially the time together before going our separate ways.
Congratulations! God bless her, and I hope you have many more years together. Did she get tired at all of reading all those papers? lol

Thank you for posting about that momentous occasion! It sounds like she enjoyed it. I too have been challenged to love and live life rather than simply getting through it. Praise the Lord for Grandma’s living example. Jesus has come that we might have life, and have it more abundantly!
When I saw the title of the post I instantly thought: “Oh no! I don’t think I have any pictures of that event!” But then I remebered that, sadly, I wasn’t even there! So I am very glad you took some pictures and posted a post, Jonathan. God bless grandma too!
Now that I think about it more, I remember sitting in church on Grandparents Day thinking about how amazing it was for her birthday, the most special number of 80, AND Grandparents Day all fell on the same day! It really is amazing; and God knew all along.
We are really blessed to have some wonderful Grandparents! Thank you, Grandma, for your genuine love for all of us. May God bless you on your 80th year!
I would probably never have guessed that Grandma Brannon turned 80 this year. West Virginians must live extra good lives!
What a joy it was to see both Grandpa & Grandma Brannon this past weekend. May God bless you Grandma Brannon with many more wonderful years on this earth.
